VIDEO: Spielberg Vows to Bring more Indian films to U.S.

The stars of Bollywood assembled in Mumbai to meet American filmmaker with a four-decade career and two-time academy award winner, Steven Spielberg, who said he wants to bridge the gap between the Indian film industry and Hollywood.

Spielberg, who is on an India-visit following the success of his Oscar winning film 'Lincoln', took part in the interview where Bollywood legend, Amitabh Bachchan, posed questions to him regarding his life and film career.

The who's who of Bollywood converged at the event in Mumbai to meet the legendary filmmaker who is visiting India with his wife Kate Capshaw.

Billionaire, Anil Ambani, whose company Reliance Entertainment has joined hands with  Spielberg's Dreamworks and co-produced two Oscar nominated films-War Horse and Lincoln, hosted the bash.

Spielberg had interacted with actors of Bollywood earlier in the day, who turned up in large numbers to meet the iconic filmmaker.

Bachchan himself flew down to meet him from his ongoing shoot of 'Satyagrah' in India's central Bhopal city, and conducted the interview at the special event.

While talking about his early career, Spielberg said he had travelled across India in the 1970s while particularly working on his films like 'Close Encounter with the Third Kind' and 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.'

Speaking to media after the party, Bollywood actor, Gulshan Grover said that Spielberg was very happy to return to India and proud of his partnership with Anil Ambani.

"Steven (Spielberg) he came after 30 years (to India), but he will come more often and he is saying that 'I am happy to provide that bridge that Indian film industry and Hollywood needs," said Grover.

The 66-year-old director's four-decade career has included cinematic marvels as Jaws, Schindler's List, The Color Purple, Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan, Empire of the Sun, Munich and Lincoln.

He won the academy award for Best Director for Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan.

His latest American historical drama film 'Lincoln' has so far grossed $253 million at the box office.
